The RS310 rotary encoder uses the Sony Magnetic principle of operation and is ideal for use in workshop conditions (machine tools) and offers excellent resistance to oil, dirt and vibration. The RS310 is available with 1 (RS310-1800A) or 2 (RS310-1800B) read heads for mounting directly onto a machine's rotary shaft. The RS 310 has a diameter scale drum that can be used for large machines such as turning centres.

The encoder is designed for use with Sony MD20 detector. The resulting output after interpolation by detector is 720,000 counts.
