The Sony Laserscale BL55 series utilises a new optical integrated circuit enabling Laserscale high accuracy performance with compact mounting size and reduced cost. The small signal pitch of 0.4µm, produced from the 1.6µm grating pitch, reduces interpolation errors to almost zero. The RU series is a shielded or enclosed linear scale for machining processes. The non contact design of the encoder is still retained with this shield type scale eliminating possible mechanical errors.
